Create / Activate a Computer Account
To create or activate an account in the Virginia Tech Computer Aided Design Laboratory, go to the Dell workstation right inside the front door of the Virginia Tech Computer Aided Design Laboratory (114-E Randolph Hall) and log in using your regular Virginia Tech PID and password. Your account will be created/activated instantly. Your home directory will be created manually a few days later; please be patient and plan ahead. Until your home directory has been created, there will be a few programs that will not work (e.g., Acrobat).
To reset you password, go to PID tool. Your password will be changed instantly.
100-L1 Randolph Hall (Goodson Learning Center): This facility is unlocked on a 24/7/365 basis, though occasionally it is locked during low-traffic break periods.
114-E Randolph Hall (VT CAD Lab): This facility is unlocked on a 24/7/365 basis, though occasionally it is locked during low-traffic break periods.
In using the VT CAD Lab system, you agree as follows:
The VT CAD Lab system may only be used by those currently enrolled at or employed by Virginia Tech (i.e., students, staff, faculty). There are no charges for having an account in the VT CAD Laboratory; though, printing charges may apply. External consulting or other commercial work on any VT CAD Laboratory equipment or system is a violation of State Law.
